What is Bloom?
“Bloom” named by our very first SOFLX Pride youth group is the foundation of our work. We provide safe and celebratory spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to celebrate the blooming of all identities and stories in our community.
Bloom programming is run by 2SLGBTQIA+ community members for LGBTQ+ young adults and teens in the Southern Finger Lakes.
WHAT WE DO

Join SOFLX, Card Carrying Books & Gifts & Southeast Steuben County Library to read books and chat about them each first Wednesday of the month! The first book is Loveless by Alice Oseman - pick up a copy at Steuben Library!

The GATLAW (Gay/Queer at the Library After Work) is a community gathering space featuring talks, conversations, and presentations at the intersection of queer life, history, literature, and culture. Each event brings together scholars, writers, and thinkers to explore LGBTQIA+ stories and experiences — from medieval history to speculative fiction — in an accessible, welcoming format open to all.
Held with and at Southeast Steuben County Library.

A donation of $10 pre or post event supports SOFLX Pride Programs.

In partnership with local libraries, we host GATLAS (gay/queer at the library after school) an after school community group for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 12-17.

Facilitated by SOFLX mental health professionals designed to connect and support our queer and trans community.

Hosted in partnership with local businesses, we co-host teen, 21+, and 24+ social events including a Queer Social Club at Card Carrying Books and Gifts!

For LGBTQIA+ youth ages 14 - 17. Join us for a week of overnight camp at The Y at Watson Woods. We have all the camp classics, from arts and crafts to campfires, axe throwing, and curated sessions with our camp counselors!

Southern Finger Lakes Pride stands with others for equity and justice and in denouncing racism, intolerance, and exclusion.
We believe that taking this stand is not enough.
We, alongside our diverse community, have been on a path to identify how to build the core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion into our nonprofit’s operations as we advance our mission.
We believe that embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as organizational values is a way to intentionally make space for positive outcomes to flourish for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community and community as a whole.
